The Short Version

If you sign in, Binne keeps your quiz answers, your match and your chat with your account, so the match is yours on any device. We don't sell your data. You can delete everything Binne keeps from the goodbye page, and your whole account at immanence.inc.

What We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address: for signing in, and for the one note described under How We Use Your Email
  • Profile data: your constraints, preferences, and goals from the quiz
  • Practices you've started: which practice, and the date you began its one-week try, if you were signed in
  • Your plan: if you write a plan for your week while signed in, we keep what you wrote (what you will sit after, for how long, what you will do if the day gets in the way, and who is better off when you are steadier) and your latest answer to "How was it?". One plan and one answer; each new one replaces the last. Reminders you save to your calendar are made in your browser and are not sent to us.

Binne Memories

When you use Binne chat while signed in, Binne saves a short profile from the conversation to guide later answers. It can include:

  • Practices you mention trying, and whether you said they helped
  • Your experience, goals, challenges, and how long you like to practice
  • Interests and practice styles you mention

You can see and delete this profile at binne.ai/account, or delete it with the rest of your Binne data on the goodbye page.

Sensitive Answers & Conversations

  • Sensitive topics: if you share mental-health considerations, your relationship to psychedelics, or free-text notes in the quiz while signed in, we store your answers with your account so we can show and safely filter your match. We never sell them or use them for advertising.
  • Chat conversations: when you're signed in, your Binne chat is saved to your account so you can pick up where you left off. A chat without an account is kept in your browser tab, not in our database. Saved chats are deleted with the rest of your Binne data on the goodbye page.
  • Quiz answers: we keep your quiz answers with your results, and a copy in your saved profile, so we can show your match and the reasoning behind it when you return. Starting the quiz again deletes the saved results. Deleting your Binne data deletes both.
  • We don't store your IP address in your account or use it to profile you across other websites.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to see aggregate usage and performance, such as which pages are slow. We also keep three anonymous counts: a match was shown, someone came back to their practice on a later day, and someone deleted their Binne data. Each is a kind and a date, with nothing that identifies you or your browser. When you choose a next step after your match, rate a reply, or send us feedback, that is saved with your account if you are signed in, or with the attribution ID below if you are not.

How We Use Your Email

  • Signing in: your email is how you sign in to your Immanence account. Clerk handles sign-in.
  • One note when a one-week try is complete: if you start the sit while signed in, we send one email when the week is up, and never a second about the same try. It has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • Apart from emails about a payment or subscription, if you have one, that is all. No marketing emails and no newsletters.

Your Data Controls

View Your Data

Your saved match is on the quiz page, your saved chat is in Chat, and the profile Binne keeps from your chats is at binne.ai/account.

Change Your Data

Starting the quiz again replaces your match. Your plan can be changed or removed on the sit. The profile Binne keeps from your chats can be deleted, but not edited.

Delete Everything

After you say goodbye on the goodbye page, you can delete everything Binne keeps: your chats, quiz answers and results, saved profile and preferences, your plan, the practices you started, and feedback linked to your account. Binne also clears what this browser keeps for it. It takes one confirmation and cannot be undone. Your shared Immanence account is deleted separately, at immanence.inc.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase for our database, which is SOC 2 Type II compliant. Clerk manages sign-in sessions.

Third Parties

We use the following services to operate Binne:

  • Clerk: authentication and sign-in
  • Vercel: hosting, analytics and performance measurement
  • Supabase: database
  • Resend: email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude): powers Binne chat, the quiz reading, and the profile Binne keeps from your chats. Your chat messages and your quiz answers are sent to their API to generate responses. If you're signed in, your conversation is also saved to your Binne account so you can return to it.
  • Braintrust: quality evaluation. Chat conversations (your messages and Binne's replies, including the context Binne was given), the quiz reading (your quiz answers and the reading), the step that builds your profile from a chat, and any rating you give a reply are logged there so we can measure and improve response quality. The logs are never tied to your account, and identifiers like email addresses and phone numbers are removed before anything is sent.
  • Google Maps Platform: if you search for teachers or practice places, the place you type, or your location if you choose to share it, is sent to Google to find listings.
  • Stripe: payments, if you make one

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone else.

Cookies

We use:

  • Sign-in cookies: set by Clerk to keep you signed in
  • Locale cookie: to remember your language preference
  • Browser storage: this browser keeps your quiz match and answers when you have one without an account, the date each one-week try began, the plan you write for your week and your latest answer after a sit when you have no account, dates that stop the anonymous counts from counting twice, and a chat without an account while the tab is open
  • Attribution ID: a first-party cookie (immanence_anon_id), kept up to a year, so that if you sign up we can tell which page first brought you here. With it we keep the country you are in as a two-letter code, and whether you tapped or scrolled, so that we count people and not robots. We keep no IP address. It isn't sold or shared and isn't used to track you across other websites.

We don't use third-party advertising cookies, and we never sell cookie data.

Children

Binne is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll note it here with an updated date. We won't retroactively reduce your privacy protections.
